A Message From ViewSPORT To The Greatest Group of People We Know.

September 3rd, 2011 by cwhitcomb

Let us making something clear, when we refer to Team ViewSPORT, we’re referring to each and all of you who are kind enough to follow us via Twitter or Facebook. We could say thank you a million times and it still wouldn’t express how grateful we are for your support. We hope you draw motivation from our posts, products and spirit. We love having you as teammates.

Over the past six months our team and company have grown. Earlier this week we launched a revamped online store with more than 50 new sweat-activated products. We understand many of you who follow us have never donned a ViewSPORT shirt. That’s fine, we love you equally. Please understand we’re very proud of our growth and our new store. We’ll try not to talk about it to much.

Here’s the thing. There’s no denying we’re a company that sells products and needs money to exist. That said, we see ViewSPORT as a movement to motivate millions of people to kick the living nonsense out of obesity and be better athletes than they ever imagined. We are proud of everyone who’s fighting for fitness – whether they’re a professional athlete or someone simply trying to drop a few pounds. It all starts with motivation.

As part of that movement, we hope our company grows as well. We love the idea of millions of people throwing on ViewSPORT gear as they run, bike and fight their way to good health and fitness. We’re not like other companies though. It’s not about the bottom line half as much as it’s about seeing millions of people live better lives.

If it were to all fall apart tomorrow, we’d still have the same passions. Destroy obesity. Motivate athletes. Inspire people. Sorry, it’s in the ViewSPORT DNA. It’s our passion. It’s who we are.

So, yes, we have a new store. We like it. If you like a shirt – feel free to buy one. If you don’t, keep sweating in whatever other fitness gear you’re wearing. You’re still an equal part of an incredible team.

Team ViewSPORT – you are the greatest group of people we know. Believe in yourselves. Fight for fitness. Never stop sweating.

ViewSPORT wants to start a movement. We want to motivate everyone around the world to be active, to live healthy and to kick the tar out of obesity. We cant run miles for people. We cant force people to spend time in the weight room. We cant demant everyone does 100 pushups before they go to bed. All we can do is motivate people.

That’s what our products our about. That’s the guiding value and mission behind ViewSPORT.

We recently collected people’s resposnes to the statement “I Sweat Because…” and put them into a powerpoint presentation. We mixed in quotes from famous athletes that referenced sweat. We believe we’ve created a powerful document full of motivation. What’s even cooler is that the document is never over. As people continue to post responses to I Sweat Because, we’ll grow the collection of quotes. It will continue to grow and continue to motivate more and more people.

So view the collection of quotes so far. Post on our Facebook page. Share a response to I Sweat Because via twitter. And, most importantly, stay sweaty.

Don’t Ever Give Up On You.

August 11th, 2011 by cwhitcomb

Every now and then we like to post half thoughts or half sentences on our Twitter and Facebook pages and let you guys respond. We’ve done it a lot with #isweatbecause (and we’re doing something cool with the responses that we’ll unveil soon) and a few days ago we simply asked, “Tell us one reason why you don’t give up…”

A handful of responses came in but one hit us hard.  @bekkib73 told us that the reason she never gives up is because “I’m worth not giving up.” It was so honest, spot on and motivating it stopped us in our tracks.

All of us should live with that core believe – that we’re worth not giving up on. No matter where you are in life or regardless of your fitness goals – believe in yourself and don’t ever give up. Maybe your goal is to drop 20 lbs and run a 5K. Maybe you’re an elite runner looking to shave a few minutes off your time. Maybe you just want to make the Varsity team next season. All of these goals are worthwhile and important. Don’t compare yourself to others. Establish your goals, work hard and don’t ever give up.

It’s an attitude we try to live at ViewSPORT. We have big aspirations for our company and for everyone who follows us and supports us. At the end of the day, we want to motivate athletes around the globe to work harder, be better and fight obesity. There’s nothing we hate more than laziness. There’s nothing that could ever make us give up on ourselves or any of you guys.

We love sharing motivational quotes, thoughts and challenges with all of you. Keep them coming. We’ll keep pushing you if you keep pushing us. At the end of the day it’s about being the best any of us can be. That’s a goal that we can all pursue…and one that’s never worth giving up on.

Thank you @bekkib73. Thank you to everyone who’s part of the ViewSPORT Team.

We Must Fight Obesity.

July 15th, 2011 by cwhitcomb

We apologize ViewSPORT team, but we need to share some bad news with all of you.

A study conducted by Trust for America’s Health recently revealed that adult obesity increased in 16 of our 50 states and didn’t decline in any. Worse, 12 states have an obesity rate over 30 percent. Four years ago there was just one state with an obesity rate over 30 percent.

In short and simple terms, too many of us are too big. It’s a national problem.

Here’s the good news though, all of us have the power to fight this problem. Every day we can choose to eat right and exercise. We can choose to sweat. We can choose to inspire others to run until their shirts are soaked in sweat. We all have the choice to live healthy.

Every day we communicate with people who are passionate about fitness and living well. We’re inspired by all of you. We hope you draw some motivation from our efforts. ViewSPORT is a business that sells fitness apparel. But, we promise to you, we care about the well being of all of you. We see our products as vehicles to inspire people to move, to sweat and to be healthy.

The numbers don’t lie. Obesity is currently winning the fight in our country. We need to team up and fight back. Every step, every drop of sweat and every gym session counts. The only way we can lose this fight is if we succumb to laziness. And, ViewSPORT hates nothing more than laziness.

Thank you for all your support. Now, support others who need helping getting started with fitness. Encourage others to run and go to the gym. Do everything to remind people that now more than ever…

It’s Okay To Let Them See You Sweat. It’s how we can win the fight against obesity.

Stay Sweaty,

There Are No Short Cuts.

July 2nd, 2011 by cwhitcomb

If you follow ViewSPORT on Facebook or Twitter, you know we talk about motivation a lot. We post comments meant to motivate you. We look for feedback on what motivates you the most. And, sometimes, we post and ask you to help motivate us.

That’s what we did earlier this week. We posted a simple request…send us your favorite motivational quote. We received a handful of great responses, but one really stuck with us that came from @climbrunliftmom.

She posted that her favorite quote was, “The most effective way to do it, is to do it.” Amelia Earhart.

We read it and found it to be incredibly simple, impactful and motivating. It reminded us once again that in this life, there are no short cuts. If you want to run faster than the next person, you best do it. If you want to get stronger, get ready for a lot of nights in the gym. If you want to be the best, prepare to sacrifice and work harder than everyone else. That’s the way it goes. That’s the way it should be.

Everyone who follows us and is part of the ViewSPORT team should remember the lesson offered in that quote. Write down a goal you’d like to achieve and tape that quote underneath it. Everyday, remember there are no short cuts and then set out to take another step toward your goal.

Thank you to everyone who sent us motivational quotes. You all keep us going and striving to be better. We’re hopeful that we return the favor.

Quest for Personal Greatness.

June 22nd, 2011 by cwhitcomb

The ViewSPORT team overheard a very powerful comment the other day we wanted to share with all of you.

We were talking about the recent stunning achievements in sport: Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs winning the NBA title, Rory McIlroy obliterating the field at the U.S. Open, Rafael Nadal at the 2011 French Open. We made the comment that achieving such true and public greatness is so rare and something that really only a few people experience. Someone who overheard us stopped us and added the following powerful message, “it’s true that we may not all achieve that level of greatness, but the world demands that we all pursue our own personal greatness every day.”

It’s something we at ViewSPORT believe and motivate people to do each day. Still, it was startling to hear it put forth in words so well. So, what does personal greatness translate to?

It translates to trying to run your next race a few seconds faster than the last one.

It translates to swimming one more lap, lifting five more pounds and doing one more pushup.

It translates to setting goals and achieving them.

It translates to never settling for anything less than the absolute best version of yourself. Every morning when you wake up remind yourself that the world needs you to be your best. Anything you want to do – do it. If you think you can push yourself further and harder – you must.

Don’t ever doubt your own abilities. Don’t ever cease to work hard and move forward.

Stay motivated. Stay sweaty.

Jordan or Lebron — It Will Come Down To Sweat.

June 5th, 2011 by cwhitcomb

When Game 3 of the NBA Finals tips off tonight, millions of people will again begin to debate – is it possible for Lebron James to surpass the greatness of Michael Jordan?

Forget for a second, that there are a handful of other players who belong in the conversation for greatest basketball player of all time (Bird, Magic, Wilt, Russell, Kareem). Try to get past the fact that, for now, Lebron still doesn’t have a single championship ring to compare to Jordan’s six. Instead, ask yourself this, when it’s all said and done and Lebron has joined Jordan in retirement – which one of them will have sweat more?

We don’t mean whose head gets sweatier during the game. We don’t even mean it as some ploy to try and get Lebron to rock a ViewSPORT shirt. No, we’re talking about the countless hours each of them has spent and will spend alone in a gym, working on defense, jump shots or simply running wind sprints.

There’s no denying that both Jordan and Lebron were born gifted athletes, but literally hundreds of thousands of people are born with such gifts. What defines people, what separates them, is the work and the sweat they’re willing to give for their cause. Whether someone is successful or not often comes down to how hard they’re willing to work each and every day, regardless of if anyone is watching.

Winning happens on TV in front of millions of viewers. Champions are born over hours and years spent in sweaty clothes and silent gyms.

That’s what we at ViewSPORT celebrate. Everyone loves the photograph of the winning team holding their trophy and rings. We see past all that to the extra miles they run, the sacrifices they made, the 20 extra push ups they’d do before bed every night…we see the greatness behind the winning.

And, don’t think you have to be named Jordan or Lebron to possess greatness. You don’t need to be on TV in front of millions. Greatness exists in all of us if we’re willing to push it out of ourselves. Don’t ever forget that.

So, go ahead, talk yourself crazy about Jordan and Lebron, but don’t forget that the end result will probably come down to who worked harder and who sweat more when nobody was watching.

Busy, Crazy, Awesome Weeks.

May 27th, 2011 by cwhitcomb

Here at ViewSPORT we’ve been putting together some crazy, awesome weekends.

Two weeks ago we traveled to two separate ECAC events (track and field in New Jersey and rowing in the Boston area) to watch some of our country’s best athletes push themselves to new limits. The experiences were inspiring as we watched athletes achieve things not even they knew they could.

A week later, ViewSPORT had people on the ground at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the world’s oldest and largest high school rowing championships in Pennsylvania. That same weekend, our team also headed to an MMA event in our area to promote ViewSPORT and take in the action.

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks to say the least.

All of these trips and exciting sports action are mixed in with our day-to-day efforts to grow ViewSPORT and best serve our fans and followers. We’re looking into a number of new product launches and new ways for you to access your favorite ViewSPORT gear. If you’re not following us on both Twitter and Facebook, you’re missing out. We’re using both accounts to motivate athletes around the world to improve and give their best. Combined, these two accounts have almost 1,900 followers and our headed for many more.

We have no problem with the busy weeks. Anyone who knows ViewSPORT knows we love giving 110 percent and we hope to motivate you to do the same. Check out this video we shot from our trip at the Stotesbury Regatta and continue to work hard. We’ll check back soon.

We Love Seeing You Sweat.

May 18th, 2011 by cwhitcomb

Once again, we find ourselves saying thank you to our ViewSPORT supporters. Just yesterday we eclipsed 800 Twitter Followers and are drawing in on 1,000 Facebook followers. Please know we are incredibly appreciative of all your support. It inspires us to work harder and give more.

We also want to take a moment to individually recognize Stephanie Roberts and Lee Smith who both uploaded photos of themselves putting ViewSPORT to the test to our Facebook page. We love seeing you guys wear your ViewSPORT shirts for motivation during your toughest workouts. We love seeing our shirts (and you guys) drenched in sweat.

As we’ve said before, we’ll find a way to say thank you when we cross the 1,000-follower barriers on both Facebook and Twitter. We also can’t encourage all of you enough to continue to load photos of yourselves using ViewSPORT. They motivate us. They motivate others. And, they motivate all of us to give our best everyday.

Everybody Needs To Start Sweating More.

May 7th, 2011 by cwhitcomb

There’s no denying the importance of exercise and breaking a regular sweat through fitness. ViewSPORT loves knowing it helps motivate people to be more fit and active everyday. Still, the obesity rates in America don’t lie – we need more people to start sweating.

Obesity in our country is a hot topic that continues to get press and media attention. The University of Illinois and Penn State University both recently received grants to study the causes and effects of childhood obesity. Fifty hospitals across Michigan recently set forth on an effort to offer healthier food to patients. Beyonce has written a song that encourages children to get up, dance and move. She even surprised a school by visiting to dance along recently. Everyone wants to do something to help fight obesity in America.

ViewSPORT is no different. We don’t see ourselves as a simple retail company. We believe we make fitness gear that can truly motivate people to be active, push harder and change their lives. We want people to push themselves to sweat as much as they can. That kind of effort doesn’t just make a message appear on a shirt, it makes people healthier and stronger.

We continue to partner with organizations who share our passion. We’re currently involved in sponsorship deals with the ECAC and Ragin Warrior Challenge. Every time we visit these organizations’ events we’re surrounded by athletes who are fighting obesity every day.

Being healthy is a choice. And sometimes it starts by understanding that it’s okay to let them see you sweat.
